Step into the heart of production
As a Precision Slitting Machine Technician, you’ll be the steady hand guiding rolls through the slitting line, turning large webs into accurate, high‑quality finished product. Your day blends hands-on machine work, digital interfaces, and teamwork with press and quality crews.
A day in the life
You’ll begin by reviewing Product Process Plans and quality specs, setting up the slitter to meet width and tolerance targets. Throughout the shift, you’ll monitor HMI/shop‑floor computer systems, adjust settings to maintain speed and precision, and keep a sharp eye on quality. When issues arise, you’ll coordinate with Press Operators and alert plant supervision and Quality Assurance to keep production on track.

- Use shop-floor computer interfaces and understand end-to-end machine operations.
- Follow Product Process Plans and meet established quality standards.
- Apply palletizing and barcode scanning procedures for finished goods.
- Communicate closely with Press Operators about slitting-related quality concerns.
- Spot potential problems and promptly notify supervision, Quality Assurance, and/or the press crew.

- Perform hazardous waste management tasks as required.
- Maintain production pace while protecting accuracy and consistency.
- Lift items up to 45 lbs and support material movement as needed.
- Work overtime when required to meet production demands.
What you’ll bring
- Prior experience in machine operation or manufacturing (preferred).
- Ability to read and write sufficiently to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
- Comfort with shop-floor computer systems/HMIs.
- Meticulous focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
- Reliability and readiness to excel in a fast-paced plant environment.
