Job Overview
Liberty Staffing is hiring an experienced Estimator for a precision sheet metal manufacturing company in Mesa, AZ. This role plays a key part in determining project costs, timelines, and feasibility by working closely with engineering, production, and vendors.
If you have experience building BOMs, working in ERP systems, and understanding manufacturing processes, this is a strong opportunity with long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Review project requirements, drawings, and specifications
- Develop process routings and Bills of Materials (BOM) within ERP systems
- Send RFQs to suppliers and outside processors
- Analyze labor, materials, and production costs to build accurate estimates
- Perform risk analysis and identify potential delays or cost impacts
- Prepare and submit detailed quotes and bid packages
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Support planning efforts including scheduling and manpower forecasting
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or related field preferred
Experience:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in manufacturing or sheet metal environment
- Strong understanding of BOM structures and costing
- Experience using ERP systems (Global Shop preferred)
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytical and math skills
- Knowledge of cost analysis, labor standards, and production processes
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles (GAAP knowledge a plus)
- Proficient with ERP systems and estimating tools
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, or ISO13485 standards
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, FIFO, 5S, JIT, QMS
