    Description

Step into the heart of quality.

Express Employment North Hollywood is partnering with a local manufacturing client to add multiple experienced inspectors to their team. In this role, you’ll be the final safeguard of product integrity—moving fluidly between receiving, in‑process, and final inspection while championing continuous improvement and compliance.

    A day in your role

You start by reviewing travelers and production queues with the Engineering Manager. You’ll interpret top‑level drawings and mechanical blueprints, apply GD&T, and verify features and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators, and a Keyence machine. Throughout the day you perform receiving checks on raw materials and machine shop output, then pivot to in‑process audits—examining fiber routing, bend radii, board‑level solder joints, and build documentation to catch defects early.

When laser components arrive, you screen electro‑optical assemblies—evaluating transmitters, photodiode receivers, and attenuators. You keep meticulous traceability in data management logs, generate clear inspection reports, and collaborate directly with production to drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence. You also coordinate test and inspection equipment calibration with outside vendors through an asset management system to maintain certifiable traceability.

    Final release excellence

    • Execute final inspection and deliver the Final Presentation for assemblies of modest complexity requiring strong manual dexterity.
    • Confirm every requirement is satisfied prior to shipment, including review of travelers and documentation such as C of C, raw material certs, AS9102, process certs, and ATP.
    • Manage MRB and non‑conformance activities; disposition reject‑tagged items per process.
    • Process scrap parts, generate scrap certifications, perform inspections, and ship warranty replacement parts in alignment with the Hydra‑Electric RMA process.
    • Navigate customer portals and related tasks (eCofC, Over Inspection, Purchase Orders, Job Release documents).

    Standards, systems, and collaboration

    • Work within AS9100 and the QMS; follow Work Instructions (WI), Quality System Procedures (QSP), and required forms.
    • Apply GMP, ISO, and industry protocols while upholding safety requirements.
    • Contribute administrative QC reporting and close out work orders; partner closely with the Engineering Manager and production teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

    What you bring

    • Proven background in manufacturing quality assurance/inspection, including receiving and machine shop inspection.
    • Fluency in blueprint reading and GD&T; ability to work from specifications, travelers, and written or verbal instructions.
    • Proficiency with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators) and operation of a Keyence machine.
    • Working knowledge of First Article Inspection requirements (AS9102).
    • AS13001 Delegated Product Release Verification may be required; Customer specific Source Delegate/Self-Release training is required.
    • Comfort with basic math for measurement analysis and data interpretation.
    • Experience in a fast‑paced production environment is preferred.
