Precision Finishing Technician — Hillsboro, OR (Onsite)

A Day in This Role
Your shift begins with a review of travelers, routings, and engineering drawings. You’ll select the right combination of hand tools, sanders, grinders, and other finishing equipment, then methodically remove burrs, break edges, and refine surfaces to the specified finish. Parts are washed and staged per the traveler routing, inspected to print, and documented in our shop floor data collection system. Throughout the day, you’ll follow our QMS procedures and safety practices, support continuous improvement, and keep your work area organized and safe.
What You’ll Do
- Execute deburring and finishing operations on precision‑machined metal components to hit quality and throughput targets.
- Choose appropriate tools and techniques to achieve the required edge breaks and surface finishes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, process sheets, routings, and travelers.
- Inspect completed parts to verify compliance with specifications and finishes.
- Troubleshoot and correct deburring/finishing issues; escalate production concerns when needed.
- Prepare, wash, and stage parts according to traveler routing.
- Accurately complete production records and shop floor data collection.
- Comply with QMS requirements, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and assist other production areas as required.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe; perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- High school diploma and 3–6 months of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Hands‑on background deburring and finishing precision‑machined parts.
- Confidence using hand tools, sanders, grinders, and related deburring equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, routings, and travelers.
- Exceptional attention to detail to verify parts meet spec and finish criteria.
- Problem‑solving mindset to identify and correct finishing issues.
- Reliable team player who follows procedures (QMS) and safety practices and adapts to changing priorities.
