As a Precision Fabrication Machinery Technician, you’ll blend craftsmanship with modern manufacturing—setting up equipment, validating dimensions, and delivering work you’re proud to sign your name to. Your strong mechanical sense, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality guide every decision you make.

    A Day in the Role

    You’ll begin by confirming work orders and specifications, then set up fabrication and production machines. Throughout your shift you’ll interpret technical drawings, measure twice, and machine once—ensuring every cut, bend, and hole aligns with requirements. You’ll adjust equipment to keep output consistent, document production results, and collaborate with your team to hit the schedule without compromising standards.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Configure, run, and oversee fabrication/production equipment to produce components to spec.
    • Read and apply blueprints, drawings, work orders, and technical specifications.
    • Verify dimensions using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
    • Operate machinery including press brakes, shears, punch presses, saws, drills, CNC equipment, and related fabrication tools.
    • Execute operations such as cutting, drilling, bending, grinding, and assembly.
    • Inspect finished parts for quality and compliance with customer and company standards.
    • Fine-tune machines and conduct basic troubleshooting to maintain throughput and accuracy.
    • Safely load raw materials and stage or unload completed product.
    • Complete production logs, quality documentation, and inventory updates accurately.
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment reliable.
    • Keep the work area clean and organized while following all safety procedures and company policies.
    • Work closely with teammates and supervisors to meet production deadlines.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years in machine operation, fabrication, metalworking, or a manufacturing setting.
    • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints.
    • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices.
    • Solid grasp of manufacturing methods and quality control expectations.
    • Comfort with shop math, measurements, and basic material calculations.
    • Mechanical aptitude, with troubleshooting and problem-solving strengths.
