    Description

    Build precision. Advance your craft.

If translating complex drawings into flawless parts on a HAAS VF-2 is your rhythm, you’ll feel at home here. You’ll own setups and production with minimal supervision, apply GD&T fluently, and create toolpaths manually or with Siemens NX CAM to deliver high-integrity components.

    What you’ll do

    • Decide the manufacturing approach from drawings/work orders: manual programming or CAM; produce G-code ahead of machining.
    • Stage fixtures and tools on a HAAS VF-2 with HRT210; ensure a clean machine, sharp tools, and calibrated gauges.
    • Verify coolant/spindle oil and other PM items before you hit cycle start; set up most jobs solo.
    • Troubleshoot speeds/feeds, fixturing, tool wear, part damage, and basic programming issues.
    • Measure in-process and adjust offsets; deburr and confirm all visual and dimensional requirements.
    • Follow router instructions meticulously and complete sign-offs.
    • Collaborate with inspectors to validate first articles before proceeding.
    • Document lessons learned for repeatability; safeguard parts with proper packaging and storage.
    • Break down tooling and inspection gear to maintain future accuracy; complete time cards per procedure.
    • Prepare in-process inspection equipment to verify quality after production.

    How you’ll collaborate

    • Flag safety, quality, delivery, and cost issues; communicate them to management daily.
    • Partner with Engineering to refine work instructions and drawings.
    • Coordinate with Purchasing to source non-stock materials/tools from approved vendors.
    • Assist senior machinists on complex setups for cross-training and growth.

    Your quality and safety promise

    • Access and follow QMS procedures; stay aware of updates.
    • Join root-cause teams to permanently resolve safety/quality issues.
    • Use required PPE and comply with all safety procedures.

    Continuous improvement mindset

    • Spot opportunities across safety, quality, delivery, and cost; elevate them to management.
    • Contribute on CI teams to move the department forward.
    • Execute assigned preventive-maintenance tasks to protect equipment health.

    What you bring

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience: 12+ years in machine tool setup and operation within an ISO/AS/MIL STD prototype/job shop environment, working from complex documentation and verbal/written instructions.
