Precision CNC Manufacturing Technician

Shape mission-critical parts overnight as our Precision CNC Manufacturing Technician

Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM (Full-time, direct hire)

Location: Mocksville, NC (Onsite) — 338 Valley Rd. Mocksville, NC 27028

A night in the life

At 11:00 PM, you clock in, review blueprints, and load a new job on a multi-axis CNC. You select the right cutters and holders, set work offsets, and dry-run the program. Through the night, you monitor spindle loads, listen for chatter, and measure critical features to 0.0002 in. When a part is out of spec, you diagnose root cause, rework it, and document the correction. Before 7:00 AM, you stage finished components for the next routing step, update the system with part locations, and leave a crisp, 5S-ready cell for the day team.

What youll do

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and job instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setups.
• Select, install, and verify cutting tools, attachments, and materials on mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines.
• Input, retrieve, and edit CNC control data; set up, operate, and adjust to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Use micrometers, calipers, bore/depth/height gages, feeler gages, and other instruments to validate parts.
• Rework nonconforming parts to meet specification.
• Partner with supervisors, engineers, and production teammates to resolve machining challenges.
• Follow ISO procedures and all safety rules; wear required PPE and perform hoist inspections.
• Move completed parts to the next operation per routing; record part locations and status in our systems.
• Maintain accurate work orders, daily production logs, status sheets, and quality records.
• Collaborate with peers and Team Leads to sustain flow, troubleshoot, and improve.
• Hold tolerances down to 0.0002 in and maintain a clean, organized, 5S-compliant cell.
• Contribute ideas to cell layout and process efficiency improvements; attend monthly department and quarterly town hall meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.

Minimum qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of CNC machining experience

Core capabilities

• Read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedures.
• Communicate job information clearly in one-on-one and small-group settings.
• Perform basic math with values between 0.0001 and 0.1; convert between metric and US units.
• Follow detailed written and verbal instructions; solve problems involving several variables.
• Apply standard problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys).
• Physical ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours; lift 35 lbs solo (70 lbs with assistance) repeatedly; push/pull up to 35 lbs; meet vision standard of 20/35 or corrected.

Preferred

• Associate degree or machining certification
• Hands-on proficiency with depth, bore, and height gages; feeler gages; micrometers; calipers; deburring tools; die grinders; drill presses; overhead lifting equipment

Onsite in Mocksville, NC; no anticipated travel.
