Precision Assembly Technician

Standard Job Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Precision Assembly Technician. In this role, you will:

• Assemble micro-mechanical and electronic components inside a cleanroom environment, often under a binocular stereo microscope
• Test and inspect assemblies and sensors
• Solder fine-pitch electronic components
• Work from schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct assemblies, sub-assemblies and component

Basic Qualifications

• Experience building ultra-precision mechanical assemblies using a binocular stereo microscope and micro-tools.
• Experience soldering fine-pitch electronic components
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and steady hands for intricate assembly of small components under a microscope
• Ability to maintain intense concentration during repetitive, highly detailed tasks
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills

• Prior hands-on background as a watchmaker, jeweler, or similar micro-precision trade
• Experience working in an ISO/clean room environment with strict cleanroom protocols (gowning, masking, etc.).
• IPC J-STD-001 solder certification.
• Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge and ESD mitigation principles
• Experience using electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
• Computer skills: MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Access
• Team player with demonstrated initiative and accountability
• Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Technical degree in electronics or mechanical related curriculum

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $50300.00 - $93300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
