Precision Assembler / Industrial Equipment Repair Technician

Your Role and Impact

The Precision Assembler / Industrial Equipment Repair Technician is responsible for assembling, disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding large industriais pumps and rotating equipment.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, quality, and performance while supporting customer requirements across a variety of industrial applications. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, industrial repair experience, and the ability to work safely with large components and precision equipment in a manufacturing or repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble industriais pumps, rotating equipment, and related mechanical assemblies.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly prints, repair specifications, and work instructions.

• Safely operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, hoists, and lifting devices to move large components.

• Perform assembly and rebuild activities involving bearings, shafts, seals, housings, couplings, and impellers.

• Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and dial indicators.

• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify components requiring repair, refurbishment, or replacement.

• Perform pressure testing, operational testing, and final quality inspections to ensure specification compliance.

• Utilize hydraulic torque tools, hand tools, power tools, and other industrial maintenance equipment.

• Maintain accurate repair documentation, inspection records, and quality reports.

• Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Minimum of three years of experience in industrial mechanical assembly, equipment repair, maintenance, millwright work, pump repair, rotating equipment service, or heavy equipment maintenance.

• Experience working with large industrial components and heavy mechanical assemblies.

• Experience operating overhead cranes, hoists, rigging equipment, or similar material handling devices.

• Ability to safely lift, maneuver, and position heavy equipment using approved lifting techniques and equipment.

• Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, repair procedures, and mechanical schematics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience repairing industriais pumps, compressors, turbines, or other rotating equipment.

• Millwright, industrial maintenance, field service, or rotating equipment technician experience.

• Experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or mechanical maintenance technician.

• Knowledge of bearing, seal, shaft, impeller, and coupling installation and replacement.

• Experience operating overhead cranes and performing rigging activities.

• Strong understanding of industrial equipment teardown, inspection, and rebuild processes.

• Experience performing precision measurement and dimensional inspections.
