Pre-Sales Support Specialist - California

The Pre-Sale Support Specialist is accountable for supporting the Sales Consultants in achieving monthly and annual sales goals. Works directly with assigned Sales Consultant to develop sales targets and drive strategies. Partner with Sales Consultant throughout the sales cycle to review new business opportunities, facilitate various sales processes, and assist in presales support to brokers.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals of assigned Sales Consultants.
  • Proficient in evaluating quote requests and offer strategic product and complex recommendations in conjunction with brokers and Sales Consultants.
  • Proactively follow up and take lead on all designated quotes (parameter to be determined by SC/presale team member) with limited to no oversight.
  • Participate in development and execution of strategic sales plans with Sales Consultant for targeted brokers and general territory management.
  • Schedule and meet monthly with assigned Sales Consultant on progress of sales goals and sales strategy. Provide update to Sales Director after meeting.
  • Proactively generate reports to evaluate data from previous sales cycle opportunities to outreach to brokers with Sales Consultant collaboration.
  • Maintain and update all records in Salesforce.
  • Initiate proactive follow up with brokers for timely submission of additional information for new group installation.
  • Resolve issues and identify appropriate resolutions to problems and adapt solutions for specific situations.
  • Demonstrate ability to navigate and effectively use the Company's website and proprietary tools.
  • Conduct all business activities with sales acumen and the goal of providing only the soundest purchasing recommendations to Sales Consultant and brokers.
  • Conduct timely follow up on issues in progress and close all loops of communication between internal staff and brokers.
  • May coordinate employee meetings with broker, Sales Consultant and enrollment specialists. This may include assisting with intake forms for meeting requests and facilitating requests for PowerPoint presentations and enrollment materials.
  • Facilitate broker needs with applicable Warner Pacific internal departments such as Customer Service, CA Fulfillment and Underwriting as needed.
  • Qualify groups by reviewing the scenario, group profile, demographics, etc. to write the group.
  • Assist or lead Sales Consultant and brokers with pre/post-sales support.
  • Maintain and build relationships with brokers and their support staff.
  • Participate in external and industry related events.
  • Maintain General Agent competitor profiles.
  • Lead, facilitate and participate in special projects.
  • Assist Sales Consultant in onboarding and training new brokers.
  • Complete proactive outbound broker calls per week.
  • Cover responsibilities of the assigned Sales Consultant or other areas as needed when team member is out.

  • Extensive understanding of market factors, carriers, carrier guidelines, plans, benefits, and legislation in the California group insurance landscape.
  • Collaborative and flexible work style to pivot in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Computer literacy in programs such as but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Microsoft 365, SalesForce.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of health care/medical sales/service experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent; advanced education or degree preferred.
  • Must have valid California life/health insurance license.
  • Preferred to be a resident of California.

Compensation

  • Salary Range* - $54,375- $72,500 annually.
  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level.
