Pre-Litigation Managing Attorney Position Overview

A growing plaintiff-side personal injury firm is seeking a Pre-Litigation Managing Attorney to lead its pre-litigation department in Glendale. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, provide strategic guidance on complex claims, and manage and mentor a team of attorneys and support staff. The ideal candidate has strong plaintiff personal injury experience, excellent case evaluation skills, and proven leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the firm's pre-litigation department
• Manage and evaluate a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters
• Develop case strategies from intake through pre-litigation resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, and settlement value
• Negotiate claims and settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel
• Review demand packages, settlement offers, and case documentation
• Provide guidance and mentorship to attorneys and case staff
• Monitor case progress, deadlines, performance, and department metrics
• Assist with training, workflow development, and process improvement
• Collaborate with the litigation department on cases transitioning to litigation
• Communicate with clients regarding case strategy, status, and settlement decisions

Qualifications

• Plaintiff personal injury experience preferred
• Significant pre-litigation experience
• Strong understanding of personal injury claims, liability, damages, and insurance coverage
• Proven settlement negotiation skills
• Prior management or leadership experience preferred
• Excellent communication and client-management skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and priorities
• California Bar admission in good standing
