Position Summary:

We're seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and highly effective Pre-K 4 Teacher to join our team. Our ideal candidate understands the critical role early childhood education plays in building a strong foundation for future academic success and is committed to creating a safe, structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

The PreK Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality instruction in early literacy, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning while supporting the development of the whole child. The teacher will use developmentally appropriate practices, small-group instruction, hands-on learning experiences, and ongoing assessment to meet the individual needs of students and promote kindergarten readiness.

The ideal candidate will establish strong classroom routines and expectations, foster positive relationships with students and families, collaborate effectively with support staff, and maintain high expectations for student learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned instruction across all PreK content areas.

• Create a safe, structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

• Provide whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction based on student needs.

• Establish and consistently reinforce classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations.

• Monitor student progress through observations, assessments, student work, and other developmentally appropriate measures.

• Use student data to differentiate instruction and provide targeted support and intervention when needed.

• Promote early literacy, language development, mathematical thinking, independence, communication, problem-solving, and social skills.

• Implement required accommodations, modifications, and supports for students receiving Special Education, Section 504, or other services.

• Direct and collaborate effectively with the classroom Teacher Assistant to maximize instructional time and student support.

• Maintain an organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student learning, progress, behavior, and classroom expectations.

• Collaborate with colleagues, instructional coaches, interventionists, Special Education staff, administrators, and other support personnel to address student needs.

• Maintain accurate student records and complete required documentation, assessments, grades/progress reports, and reports within established timelines.

• Supervise students during classroom instruction, transitions, meals, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duties.

• Participate in PLCs, professional development, parent conferences, campus events, and school-wide initiatives.

• Follow all campus, district, and state policies and procedures related to student safety, confidentiality, instruction, and professional responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

• Knowledge of early childhood development, developmentally appropriate practices, and age-appropriate instructional strategies.

• Ability to plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with early childhood learning standards.

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

• Ability to assess student learning and use data to guide instruction.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with families, colleagues, support staff, and administrators.

• A genuine passion for teaching young children and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Texas teaching certification for the assigned early childhood grade level preferred.

• Previous experience teaching PreK or early elementary students.

• Experience with early literacy, phonological awareness, and kindergarten-readiness instruction.

• Experience providing differentiated instruction and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

• Knowledge of the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and early childhood assessment practices.
