    Pre‑Employment Compliance and Onboarding Specialist

    EHC is hiring on behalf of a client in the south Houston, TX area. In this role, you’ll be the go‑to partner who readies every new hire for a smooth first day—coordinating requirements, validating documentation, and keeping stakeholders aligned.

    What your day looks like

    • Map out each new hire’s pre‑employment plan and coordinate all requirements, including background checks and drug screenings.
    • Track progress of screenings and investigations; proactively follow up to close out any outstanding items.
    • Complete Form I‑9s, verify employment eligibility documentation, and process E‑Verify cases accurately and on time.
    • Audit new‑hire packets to ensure forms are complete, correct, and compliant.
    • Guide candidates through required onboarding forms, answering questions and resolving issues.
    • Maintain precise records for I‑9, E‑Verify, pre‑employment, and onboarding activities in line with company procedures.
    • Create and maintain new‑employee files; ensure all documentation is organized and properly filed.
    • Enter and update new‑hire data in the HRIS and other relevant systems.
    • Keep recruiters, hiring leaders, candidates, and cross‑functional partners informed on onboarding status and next steps.
    • Scan, file, email, and safeguard employment‑related documentation.
    • Provide general administrative support for the onboarding and new‑hire process.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    What you’ll bring

    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent onboarding workflows.
    • Sound judgment with confidential information.
    • Tenacious follow‑through and deadline discipline.
    • Comfort working in a fast‑paced setting.
    • Fluency with Microsoft Office and experience in HRIS/onboarding platforms.
    • Foundational knowledge of Form I‑9, E‑Verify, background screening, and related pre‑employment processes (preferred).
