    Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I - 3rd Shift
    Location: Miramar, FL
    Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
    Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday | 2:00 AM - 10:30 AM

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Analytical Assistant I to join our Technical Operations team. This role is responsible for performing critical pre-analytical laboratory support functions, ensuring specimens are processed, handled, and delivered accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced production environment, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and maintain a commitment to quality, compliance, and customer service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform pre-analytical laboratory functions including:
      • Specimen sorting
      • Specimen racking
      • Specimen pickup and delivery
      • Specimen storage and archiving
      • Centrifugation
      • Aliquoting
    • Identify and resolve specimen-related issues such as incorrect specimen types, missing information, or handling discrepancies.
    • Ensure proper specimen handling and adherence to laboratory protocols and compliance regulations.
    • Research and interpret test order information using translation tables, laboratory systems, and service directories.
    • Complete required documentation accurately, legibly, and within established timelines.
    • Maintain productivity and quality standards following completion of training.
    • Support departmental operations by assisting with additional duties as assigned.
    • Cross-train in additional Technical Operations and Specimen Processing functions to support career progression and operational efficiency.
    • Adhere to company safety, quality, and compliance standards at all times.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Basic data entry and computer skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work processes.
    • Commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and confidence.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Medical or laboratory background preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology related to clinical laboratory testing.
    • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or laboratory environment.
    • Familiarity with mainframe computer systems.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Work in a laboratory and biohazard environment while following all safety protocols.
    • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced production setting.
    • Maintain composure and good judgment under pressure.
    • Follow 5S workplace organization standards and keep work areas clean and organized.
    • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to maneuver specimen carts, racks, and laboratory equipment.
    • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
