    Job Description

    We are seeking a Practice Manager to join our thriving team! The ideal candidate is a people-focused leader and strategic problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the unique demands of a busy equine veterinary practice.

    San Antonio Equine Hospital is a dynamic primary care and referral hospital serving South Central Texas. We offer advanced diagnostics and treatments including sports medicine, 24/7 emergency services, radiography and ultrasound, advanced reproduction with embryo transfer and foaling out, wellness and preventative care, and more.

    Position Overview:

    As a Practice Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our hospital, ensuring top-tier patient care, and exceptional client service. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving our hospital's success, enhancing profitability, and nurturing a culture of excellence and compassion. You will function as an essential part of the hospital management team, collaborating closely with the Managing Veterinarian to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the hospital. Your role will drive revenue, manage costs, and cultivate a hospital culture focused on top-notch patient care and exceptional customer service. You will oversee the planning and coordination of hospital operations while creating a supportive and cohesive team environment. Given the managerial responsibilities and the need for in-person interaction with clients and employees, regular on-site attendance is a fundamental requirement for this position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee daily hospital operations and workflow
    • Lead, support, and develop the hospital's administrative and support teams
    • Partner with veterinarians and hospital leadership on operational priorities and strategic initiatives
    • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and employee development
    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
    • Monitor practice performance, financial metrics, and operational efficiencies
    • Help develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes that support continued growth
    • Maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction and service excellence
    • Coordinate hospital resources, equipment, inventory, and vendor relationships
    • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and hospital standards
    • Implement new technologies and initiatives to improve operational efficiency

    Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred
    • 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role, including customer service experience
    • Previous veterinary practice management, healthcare management, or related leadership experience required
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Experience leading and developing teams
    • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong business and operational acumen
    • Experience with equine veterinary medicine or a strong understanding of the equine industry preferred
