Job Description
The Practice Manager provides operational, financial, and administrative leadership for the Horry County Health & Wellness Center, an employer-sponsored ambulatory healthcare practice serving approximately 3,600 covered members, including employees, dependents, retirees, and public safety personnel. The Center delivers integrated primary care, occupational medicine, wellness services, preventive care, chronic disease management, and coordinated access to specialty services. Its purpose is to improve health and wellbeing, expand timely access to care, support workforce readiness and return-to-work outcomes, and promote a healthy and productive employer population.
Reporting directly to the Tidelands Division Director of Ambulatory Operations, with a dotted-line relationship to the Administrator of Occupational & Corporate Medicine, the Practice Manager leads the daily operations of a multidisciplinary practice consisting of four providers, a collaborative local Medical Director, and six ancillary staff members, including onsite radiology services.
The Practice Manager is accountable for practice operations, personnel management, workflow optimization, quality improvement, financial stewardship, access management, regulatory compliance, Epic utilization, and patient and employer experience. The role collaborates closely with ambulatory and occupational medicine leadership, providers, Horry County stakeholders, Human Resources, Safety, Risk Management, and other clinical and administrative partners.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong ambulatory practice management, collaborative leadership, sound operational judgment, and the ability to lead a complex employer-based healthcare environment. Experience in occupational medicine, employee health, employer-sponsored clinics, workforce health, and public-sector or public safety populations is strongly preferred.
