Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Specialty Practice Development, the Practice Administrator plans and directs the operational activities of assigned medical practices. Oversees adherence to the organization policies and proper communication to and involvement of subordinate personnel regarding practice operations. Plans, organizes and directs daily operations to include staffing, practice growth and improvement, financial performance and customer service. Accountable for operational and financial performance results of assigned practices.
The Practice Administrator must be knowledgeable in human resource management and practice management, and be adept in both clinical and business office settings. The Practice Administrator trains, evaluates, supervises and provides administrative support for the practice staff. The ability to work as a team member is essential. The Practice Administrator serves as a role model and mentor to the practice staff and must be knowledgeable, encouraging, enthusiastic, and nurturing. The Practice Administrator must demonstrate a high level of personal integrity.
Personnel Management
Manages human resource activities and makes hiring decisions of practice employees.
Provides appropriate training and orientation or ensures training is provided to new employees.
Ensures adequate staffing.
Coordinates employee leave time.

Attends huddles, monthly staff meetings, and other various meetings as needed.
< >Financial Analysis
Prepares an annual practice operating budget and reviews with physicians.
Analyzes monthly practice financial performance and prepares monthly statement.
Tracks the quarterly work relative value units of each physician.
Calculates the bonus pool for physicians and staff quarterly.
Billing and Accounts Receivable
Reviews monthly denial reports to identify and correct problems. Analyzespayermixanddaysin A/Rto identifyandcorrectproblems.
Accounts Payable
Monitors and approves practice expenditures.
Pays all practice bills in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensures practice expenditures stay within the budget.

Payroll
Submits employee adjustment logs bi-weekly. Approves employee time bi-weekly.
Monitors practice overtime.
Submits physician sick and vacation time monthly to the hospital.
System Review
Analyzes practice systems to increase efficiency and maximize revenue.
Conducts annual review of major practice systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
Implements changes as needed to improve practice performance.
Marketing and Practice Development
Collaborates with Marketing and physicians to develop a marketing plan.
Arranges introductions with local primary care physicians.
Creates practice brochure.
Arranges for promotional items to be produced and distributed throughout the hospital and the community in collaboration with Marketing
Arranges for practice participation in community events.
Patient Satisfaction
Reviews patient satisfaction surveys quarterly to identify areas for improvement.
Works with physicians and employees to reduce wait times for the group.
Facilitates the resolution of patient complaints.
Compliance
Position Qualification:
The Practice Administrator must have a least a four-year college degree. He/she must also possess a detailed knowledge of accounting, economics, human resource management, marketing and billing. Previous experience with physician office management is required.
