Founded in 1947, South Bend Orthopaedics (SBO), a proud partner of OrthoAlliance, provides specialized care for musculoskeletal surgery, orthopedic rehabilitation and the treatment of sports and work-related injuries. SBO has served northern Indiana and southwest Michigan for decades and has been the orthopaedic surgeons for the University of Notre Dame Athletics Department since 1949. Responsibilities

PA/NP - Ortho Surgery/Sports Medicine

South Bend Orthopaedics is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established and busy practice. The PA/NP would work in a 1-to-1 model with an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine. This position will share time between assisting in surgery (approximately two days a week) and running a clinic practice schedule (approximately two-three days a week). The PA/NP must have a strong desire to focus their clinical skills on general musculoskeletal acute and chronic injuries. The Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practioner will join the advanced practitioner team and be required to take weekend call with your physician (~6 weekends per year).

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Work autonomously while maintaining a close working relationship with SBO Physicians.
  • Provide exceptional medical care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Possess strong communication and display professionalism when working with patients, families, and the community.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and comfort with all methods of patient electronic documentation and communication.
  • First assist for surgical cases
  • Rounding on inpatient cases

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Program
  • Current certification
  • Active Indiana license with no restrictions
  • Orthopedic experience preferred but not required.
