About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Power Systems Applications (PSA) Engineer to join our Electric Grid Software Solutions team.

In this role, you will design, develop, and customize Energy Management System (EMS) and Advanced Energy Management System (AEMS) software applications used by utilities, ISOs, and TSOs to manage and optimize power transmission networks.

This position is ideal for candidates who combine strong power systems domain knowledge with hands-on software development experience in C++ and Java.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver advanced Power Systems Application (PSA) software for transmission systems.

• Collaborate with electric utilities, ISOs, and TSOs to define and deliver software solutions.

• Participate in all stages of software development - requirements, design, coding, testing, integration, and delivery.

• Implement and customize transmission applications such as Load Flow, Contingency Analysis, and Power Factor Control.

• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning in real-time mission-critical systems.

• Manage system configuration, install patches, and integrate third-party tools such as Oracle, NetApp, etc.

• Work in both Linux and Windows environments with tools like GitHub and ClearCase.

• Ensure compliance with data and system reliability standards for electric grid software.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in customizing and delivering Energy Management Systems (EMS/AEMS) - preferably GE e-Terra AEMS - Reliance.

• Proven hands-on experience in Power Systems applications for transmission, including:

• Load Flow

• Contingency Analysis

• Power Factor / Reactive Power Control

• 5+ years of programming experience in C++, Java, or related languages.

• Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

• Experience with SQL, Oracle, and shell scripting for system configuration and log analysis.

• Familiarity with version control and configuration tools (GitHub, ClearCase).

• Solid background working on real-time / mission-critical systems.

• Proven ability to pick up and install fixes on live customer environments safely.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering (EEE)

• Master's (M.Tech) in Power Systems or Ph.D. in Power Systems preferred
