Power Platform Developer (Copilot Studio / Conversational AI) - 3593810

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Power Platform / Copilot Studio Developer position! This is an 7+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY (4 days/week) or remote within the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No c2C.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer with deep expertise in Microsoft Copilot Studio and conversational AI to design and deliver enterprise-grade intelligent automation solutions. This role is responsible for architecting scalable chatbot and AI-driven experiences using Copilot Studio (Power Virtual Agents), Power Automate, and Dataverse, with a strong focus on prompt engineering, conversation design, and AI interaction patterns.

You will lead the design of topic-based dialog frameworks, trigger optimization, and resilient fallback strategies, ensuring high-quality, context-aware user experiences. The role requires strong technical judgment in navigating low-code vs. pro-code boundaries, including integrations via APIs, connectors, and custom extensions where necessary.

As a senior contributor, you will drive solution architecture, governance, and security best practices across environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards for data, access, and lifecycle management. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, AI-enabled solutions within an Agile delivery model.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design and develop conversational solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio / Power Virtual Agents
• Create and optimize topics, trigger phrases, and fallback handling for chatbot experiences
• Build and maintain Power Automate cloud flows, including approvals and error handling
• Work with Dataverse, including tables, relationships, and security roles
• Structure prompts and design guided vs. open-ended conversational experiences
• Collaborate with stakeholders, system owners, and technical teams to support integrations
• Prepare technical specifications, diagrams, and documentation

What You'll Need to Have:

• Microsoft Copilot Studio / Power Virtual Agents experience
• Topic design, trigger phrases, fallback handling
• Understanding limitations of no-code/low-code platforms
• Microsoft Power Platform fundamentals
• Power Automate (cloud flows, approvals, error handling)
• Dataverse (tables, relationships, security roles)
• Prompt & conversation design
• Structuring prompts for consistency and grounding
• Designing conversational flows (guided vs. open-ended)
• Integration mindset
• Experience working with APIs, connectors, and cross-system integrations
• Understanding when custom development is required
• Governance awareness
• Knowledge of security, environment strategy, and data boundaries

Pay Range: $65–$70/hr
