Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a
Power Distribution Engineer with our large power and utilities client in Rural Hall, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:$35.00 - $40.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Description:- This classification represents the third level of a degreed technical role for non-engineering personnel.
- The Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to resolve complex issues and applies leadership capabilities to oversee and direct work within a defined area of expertise, with limited supervision.
- This position provides engineering support for major projects within the Triad Zone, including distribution system upgrades from the substation to the customer.
- The role requires coordination with engineering firms, customers, contractors, and management, as well as participation in field visits and customer meetings.
- The position utilizes Maximo and BOUD and supports storm response efforts locally or in other designated locations, as required.
Responsibilities:- Provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision.
- Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence.
- Provides technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise.
- Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
- Conducts engineering and related studies.
- Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Maintains accurate records and files.
- Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
Specific Requirements:- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A minimum of two years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or a minimum of six years of equivalent experience without a degree.
- Direct experience in electric distribution.
Qualifications:- Either a graduate from a college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 4 to 6 years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 10 to 15 years equivalent experience with no degree.
- Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds Good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Understanding of basic principles of project management.
