Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Power BI Data Visualization Analyst position! This is a 12-18 months contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the development of dashboards and analytics for a modernization initiative, creating executive-level reporting to track migration progress from legacy data centers to Azure and CoLo environments
- Design and implement standards, templates, and themes for Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring consistency and clarity across all data visualizations for the Data Insights Team
- Build advanced Power BI reports and data models that track operational requirements, KPIs, KRIs, and SLA performance metrics for senior leadership and board-level presentations
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to query, structure, and model data from the data warehouse, using advanced SQL to optimize performance and resolve data issues
- Drive business insights through descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive reporting by selecting appropriate visualizations that identify trends, outliers, and performance improvement opportunities
- Implement best practices for publishing BI reports, managing permissions, monitoring usage, and ensuring data accuracy across all technology and cyber security reporting
- Mentor less experienced team members on dashboard development, data visualization best practices, and effective data storytelling techniques
- Partner with business stakeholders to conduct dashboard testing, gather feedback, and refine visualizations to support data-informed decision making
What You'll Need to Have:
- 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience with demonstrated ability to design and develop advanced, complex dashboards and data visualizations at a senior level
- 5+ years of expert-level SQL experience, including writing advanced queries, optimizing performance, and handling data transformation and extraction
- Strong Business Intelligence background with proven ability to create accurate data models and work with business and technical metadata
- Deep expertise in data visualization approaches and principles of visual perception, with the ability to create compelling, user-friendly dashboards
- Experience incorporating data storytelling techniques into visualizations to effectively communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences
Pay Range: $66-76/hr
