Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled Powder Coating Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying powder coat finishes to metal enclosures used in generator set (genset) assemblies. This position is essential for ensuring both the durability and professional finish of our products. If you have experience with powder coating systems, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, masking, and inspecting for imperfections
Operate powder coating spray guns, booths, and curing ovens
Apply coatings consistently and according to job specifications
Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, and make adjustments as needed
Safely handle and move metal components throughout the coating process
Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S/Lean Manufacturing standards)
Accurately document tasks and report equipment/material concerns
Participate in training on equipment and coating processes
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of experience in powder coating or industrial painting
Basic knowledge of powder coating systems and techniques
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including job travelers and work orders
Strong attention to detail and focus on quality control
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
Willing to wear required PPE and work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Preferred:
Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting
Familiarity with genset or industrial enclosures
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
