Description

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE

This position will be responsible for set-up and operation of the powder coat booth. Must work in a timely and professional manner following company standards and best practices. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the Powder Coating Department ensuring optimized output
  • Mentor powder coating staff and train staff on maintenance, cleanliness best practices
  • Responsible for a full range of specialized painting projects per customer and/or management request.
  • Prepare and powder a variety of surfaces including steel, aluminum and other shop coated metal, uncoated metal, finished hardware, accessories and other surfaces specified.
  • Apply protective powder coatings to items such as equipment and miscellaneous metalwork.
  • Must maintain equipment (preventative maintenance), and work in a safe manner. 
  • Responsible for the storage and proper disposal of paint products.
  • Must be able to operate various tools and equipment necessary with powder-coating.
  • Maintaining and assisting with the overall cleanliness of the production area including mopping floors, trash clean up, scrap material preparation, taking out garbage, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Assisting in the unloading of trucks including boxes and light poles that will require team lifting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in powder-coating is required.
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot powder coating machines to remain at optimal performance
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds independently.

Position Type/Expected Schedule of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday and may include overtime and weekend work.
