Postdoctoral Researcher - Gravitational Wave Detector Technology

The Syracuse University Experimental Gravitational-Wave Group is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral researcher position for research on technology for current and future gravitational-wave detectors. Experience in one of the following areas is desired: optics, electronics, controllers, vacuum systems, or interferometric simulations for gravitational-wave detectors. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a related field. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility for renewal. The position involves both research and advising graduate students in the group. This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
