    The Radiation Oncology Department at City of Hope National Medical Center (Duarte, CA) under the direction of Dr. Tyler Watkins is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. The position will include onsite training in clinical medical physics and exciting research in imaging and radiation therapy. This is a great opportunity to join the medical physics community with the potential to transition into a clinical medical physics residency. This 1-year position includes on-site training working with a great team of medical physics faculty, residents, and radiation oncology physicians.

    Career opportunities upon completion of the postdoctoral training include:

    • Clinical medical physics

    • Medical imaging computer programming

    • Radiation therapy computer programming

    As a successful candidate you will:

    • Support clinical physics faculty in PET/CT imaging for investigating immune response, cancer detection, disease progression, and radiation therapy adaptation.

    • Gain Research experience that includes medical image processing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm development, and scientific writing.

    • Gain clinical experience including training in radiation oncology software, imaging including multiple PET/CT scanners, and radiation delivery systems including PET-guided radiation therapy.

    Your qualifications should include:

    • A PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

    • Programming experience in Python, Matlab, and SQL.

    • Mathematical modeling and data analysis.

    • Machine/Deep learning (e.g. Pytorch, TensorFlow, JAX).
