Position Information

Description & Detail The visiting research scholar or Postdoctoral Research scholar will conduct independent and collaborative research focused on pancreatic cancer pathophysicology, cardiac pathophysiology, or protein chemistry. The fellow will contribute to experimental design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant development. This is a full-time 12-month appointment.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and perform experiments related to pancreatic cancer biology, cardiovascular pathophysiology, or protein biochemistry
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and grant writing
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students
  • Assist with laboratory documentation and research compliance

Hiring Range: (commensurate with experience) Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and/or certification and other business considerations.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD or MD in a biological, biomedical, or related field
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Pancreatic cancer research
  • Cardiovascular research using mouse models
  • Patch-clamp electrophysiology
  • De novo protein design and protein biochemistry
  • Strong publication record demonstrating expertise in relevant research areas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications include experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology, demonstrated by relevant publications
  • Extensive hands-on experience in mouse cardiac surgery, including myocardial infarction (MI), transverse aortic constriction (TAC), or related procedures
