Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Primary Purpose of Position
POSO Coordinator I positions report to a POSO Business Partner and are part of a team of deployed professionals who are centrally employed by POSO while serving as embedded consultative partners to designated academic and/or administrative units. POSO Partnerships utilizes a shared services model for service delivery. Although this position is anticipated to support specific academic or administrative areas within ECU, the position may be assigned to support different academic and/or administrative areas across the university based on organizational needs.
The POSO Coordinator I provides frontline POSO support to managers and employees within an assigned unit, ensuring the timely, accurate, and consistent execution of people-related processes. Reporting to the POSO Business Partner, this role serves as the primary point of contact for recruitment, hiring, and employment transactions, and supports the effective implementation of POSO policies, procedures, and service standards.
In collaboration with POSO Business Partners and POSO teams, the Coordinator I ensures consistent service delivery, compliance with institutional guidelines, and facilitates a positive customer experience. This position also contributes to policy communication and process improvement initiatives.
The POSO Coordinator I focuses on operational excellence, customer service, and process adherence. Consistent with POSO's values, this role is critical to delivering a reliable, high-quality customer experience.
The POSO Coordinator I applies, communicates and promotes human resources procedural best practices that support the units in achieving their university and unit goals and objectives. The work involves developing and maintaining productive and collaborative work relationships with POSO teams and external units serviced by listening, understanding and responding to apparent and underlying needs, resolving problems, and continually seeking to provide the highest quality service.
The POSO Coordinator I makes decisions within policy guidelines; communicates policies, procedures and guidelines; and evaluates patterns and recommends options to improve the customer experience. Employees are expected to maintain condentiality of all information.
