POS Systems Engineer - Ankeny, IA (On-site)

Join a dynamic technology team supporting large-scale retail operations as a POS Systems Engineer. In this hands-on position, you'll work directly with cutting-edge retail technology, ensuring seamless point-of-sale operations, secure payment processing, and robust store infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, support, and maintain POS systems, payment solutions, and store technology platforms
• Design, test, and deploy technical infrastructure improvements across retail locations
• Automate administrative and deployment workflows using scripting languages (PowerShell)
• Perform database queries for system analysis, troubleshooting, and data insights
• Manage software deployments, system upgrades, device rollouts, and maintenance windows
• Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure stability and security
• Document technical processes and participate in ongoing platform enhancements

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in systems engineering or systems support within a distributed environment
• Advanced scripting skills with Windows PowerShell
• Strong database querying expertise with SQL
• Proven troubleshooting ability with Windows operating systems

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting retail store environments or payment technology
• Familiarity with GK Retail POS, ACI ConnectUp, Allied Site Controllers, or Verifone systems
• Linux or OpenSUSE administration experience
• Knowledge of Gilbarco Insite360 or ACI TMS
