    Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager

    A growing financial institution is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to support a specialized lending platform. This is an excellent opportunity for a credit-oriented banking professional who enjoys underwriting complex commercial transactions and managing credit risk throughout the life of a loan.

    This position is centered on credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and risk management, given the portfolio's substantial loan growth over the last few years. The ideal candidate is passionate about credit and wants to build deeper expertise in specialty lending.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Underwrite credit facilities for commercial clients, including franchise operators and specialty lending clients
    • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, leverage metrics, and borrower performance
    • Prepare detailed credit memos and recommendations for approval committees
    • Conduct annual reviews, renewals, amendments, and risk assessments
    • Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and overall credit quality
    • Identify emerging risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies
    • Partner with relationship managers, credit leadership, and loan operations teams to ensure sound portfolio management
    • Support ongoing portfolio surveillance and borrower reporting requirements

    Desired Background

    • 3-7 years of experience in commercial banking, credit underwriting, portfolio management, or commercial credit analysis
    • Experience evaluating middle-market or commercial borrowers
    • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and credit risk assessment
    • Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing formal credit memoranda
    • Ability to manage multiple credits simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
