Portfolio Manager - Hiring now! 

A growing local Community Bank is expanding and seeking an experienced Commercial Portfolio Manager for the Memphis, TN market. This position partners closely with Commercial Lenders to underwrite, structure, close, and manage complex commercial credit relationships while maintaining strong credit quality and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new commercial loans, renewals, extensions, modifications, and amendments
  • Perform detailed financial statement, tax return, cash flow, and global cash flow analysis
  • Analyze borrower, guarantor, industry, and market risk and prepare comprehensive credit approval packages
  • Provide an independent assessment of key risks and considerations impacting credit decisions
  • Support complex and high-dollar commercial loan transactions
  • Assist lenders with term sheets, commitment letters, loan structure, and approval packages
  • Review borrowing base certificates and monitor compliance
  • Manage CRE and construction lending requirements, including draw requests, inspections, construction documentation, appraisals, environmental reports, leases, and contractor information
  • Review loan documentation before and after closing for accuracy and compliance with loan approval
  • Monitor portfolio performance through annual/quarterly reviews, covenant testing, financial reporting, and risk assessment
  • Track and resolve documentation and ongoing credit exceptions
  • Request and review financial spreads, global cash flow analyses, appraisals, evaluations, and environmental information
  • Utilize nCino to maintain credit information and submit loan packages for approval
  • Maintain knowledge of FDIC, OCC, state banking regulations, Bank policies, and lending compliance requirements
  • Build strong partnerships with Commercial Lenders and other areas of the Bank

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of banking experience, including at least 2 years in commercial credit analysis
  • Experience supporting Commercial Lenders and high-dollar commercial credits
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending, CRE, construction lending, underwriting, credit analysis, and portfolio management
  • Ability to analyze personal and business tax returns, financial statements, cash flow, and complex financial ratios
  • Understanding of loan documentation, credit policy, regulatory requirements, and risk management
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and commercial lending systems such as nCino
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; applicable graduate education may satisfy certain experience requirements
