Position Overview
SkyBridge Tactical is seeking a PCD Logistics Support Specialist to provide Fire Control logistics support at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) in Crane, Indiana.
The successful candidate will support the receipt, accountability, storage, movement, testing, shipment, and disposition of Portable Computing Devices (PCDs), including laptops, tablets, and associated equipment. This position requires strong logistics, material accountability, computer, data-entry, organizational, and communication skills.
The role also involves maintaining auditable records, preparing military shipping documentation, supporting classified hardware accountability, performing basic technical activities on PCDs, and coordinating with logistics, property, transportation, and security personnel.
We are looking for a detail-oriented logistics professional who is comfortable working in a hands-on, mission-focused environment supporting government equipment accountability. The ideal candidate will have experience with DoD logistics, material handling, property accountability, warehousing, or Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T), along with strong computer, data-entry, and communication skills. Experience preparing military shipping documentation, maintaining auditable inventory and custody records, handling classified or sensitive equipment, and working with government asset-tracking systems is highly desirable. A technician or computer hardware background is also valuable, as this position includes basic acceptance testing, minor repairs, and battery maintenance on laptops, tablets, and related equipment. We are seeking someone who can work accurately, follow established procedures, maintain accountability, and communicate effectively with logistics, security, property, transportation, and program personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect, receive, handle, and store Portable Computing Devices (PCDs), including laptops, tablets, and associated material.
Coordinate incoming PCDs and related equipment with the Logistics Lead, Organizational Material Administrator (OMA), and security personnel, as applicable.
Assist with the resolution of damaged, incomplete, or misdirected PCDs and associated material.
Apply labels and other required identification markings to PCDs as directed.
Maintain accurate and auditable material receipt registers, logs, and supporting accountability documentation.
Compile and report logistics readiness metrics, throughput status, receipt analytics, and other logistics information to program leadership.
Ensure incoming PCDs are processed efficiently and expeditiously.
Maintain work areas and facilities in accordance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and 6S organizational principles.
Retrieve PCDs from storage or staging areas to support Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) requirements.
Execute applicable PHS&T procedures for government equipment and material.
Prepare DD Form 1149, Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Document, and standard military packing lists.
Coordinate freight and transportation requirements with NSLC and authorized transportation carriers.
Maintain comprehensive outbound shipping manifests, custody records, and material accountability logs.
Generate operational metrics, distribution status reports, and other reporting associated with outgoing PCD shipments.
Coordinate PCDs identified for excess or disposal with the Logistics Lead.
Inspect, pull, prepare, document, and stage PCDs designated for excess or disposal.
Prepare required documentation supporting the excess or disposition of PCDs.
Coordinate equipment disposition with the local property office, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), ITD, and other applicable organizations.
Perform bench-level acceptance testing of PCDs and associated components.
Perform minor repairs and basic technical troubleshooting as required.
Conduct battery charging cycles and support battery service-life optimization.
Execute daily security checks of GSA-approved security containers, as required.
Assist with inventories and accountability of classified hardware.
Enter, update, and maintain real-time asset tracking and accountability information within government data systems.
Review and evaluate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), instructions, and other documentation applicable to assigned tasking.
Provide recommendations regarding applicable logistics procedures and processes when appropriate.
Perform assigned duties in accordance with established SOPs, government instructions, security requirements, and program procedures.
Represent the logistics section in internal and stakeholder-level program meetings.
Coordinate with program personnel regarding workload distribution, schedules, priorities, and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance.
ESD certification.
Forklift certification- can be completed upon hire
Strong organizational and material accountability skills.
Strong computer skills and proficiency working with electronic data systems.
Demonstrated data-entry skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and auditable material accountability records.
Ability to perform hands-on receiving, inventory, storage, staging, packing, shipping, and material-handling activities.
Ability to follow established security procedures, SOPs, government instructions, and material accountability requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T).
Experience supporting PHS&T activities involving classified shipments and receipts.
Experience preparing or processing DD Form 1149 and standard military shipping documentation.
Experience receiving, shipping, storing, or maintaining accountability of government property.
Experience handling or inventorying classified hardware.
Previous logistics, warehousing, property accountability, material management, or supply-chain experience in a Department of Defense environment.
Experience coordinating equipment disposition or excess activities with DLA, government property offices, or similar organizations.
Experience working with government logistics, inventory, or asset-management information systems.
Technician, electronics, computer hardware, or related technical background.
Experience performing basic hardware acceptance testing, troubleshooting, or minor repairs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Successful candidates should be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate accountability of government equipment throughout receipt, storage, shipment, and disposition processes. Candidates must be comfortable working both independently and as part of an integrated government and contractor team and should possess the communication skills necessary to coordinate with logistics, security, transportation, property, and program personnel.
The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records, following established procedures, and supporting timely movement of mission-related equipment.
