Pool Maintenance Technician

Location: Myrtle Beach, SC 29579
Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:00 AM and continuing until assigned service routes are completed

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Pool Maintenance Technician to maintain, service, and inspect residential and commercial swimming pools and spas throughout the Myrtle Beach area.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with pool cleaning, water chemistry, equipment inspections, and basic pool equipment repairs. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage daily service assignments independently, and a commitment to providing professional, high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance of residential and commercial swimming pools and spas
  • Test and balance pool water chemistry, including chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and other required levels
  • Clean pools, skim debris, brush surfaces, vacuum pools, and empty skimmer and pump baskets
  • Inspect pool and spa equipment to ensure proper operation and identify existing or potential issues
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment problems involving pumps, filters, heaters, skimmers, and plumbing systems
  • Perform minor equipment repairs and report major repair needs to management
  • Complete scheduled service routes safely, accurately, and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate service records, water test results, repairs, and materials used
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding pool conditions, maintenance performed, and recommended services
  • Ensure service vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies remain clean, organized, and properly maintained
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling pool chemicals, tools, equipment, and related materials
  • Report equipment needs, customer concerns, and service observations to management
  • Perform additional pool maintenance and service duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous swimming pool maintenance or pool service experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of pool water chemistry, circulation systems, filtration systems, and sanitation requirements
  • Experience with pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, skimmers, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot common pool equipment and maintenance issues
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily service route
  • Dependable, punctual, and capable of handling changing daily schedules
  • Ability to accurately maintain service records and communicate findings
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Reliable transportation to the designated reporting location

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, and changing weather conditions
  • Ability to safely handle pool chemicals, tools, equipment, and maintenance materials
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday
