Pond & Water Garden Technician
Looking for someone with background and knowledge of various styles and types of water gardens and the associated pumps and filters. A working knowledge of the nitrogen cycle and the ecological system within a water garden is essential.
You will be responsible for supervising one or two people (depending on the size of the project) to drain, clean and maintain water gardens for various clients. This will also include fall winterizing and fall pond cleanings.
As Team Leader, you are responsible for managing a team while performing the delivery of services. Our clients expect us to provide quality services and you will be a key person in assuring that our customers receive the service they deserve.
You must be a proactive leader and self-starter with common sense, who can interact with the public and our employees. You must have a strong work ethic and be able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. You must have experience in landscaping and previous supervisory experience, as well as proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage team performing services; motivate, coach, and mentor team
- Perform pond maintenance duties, as necessary, such as pond cleaning, diagnosing pond problems, pond openings, closings and winterizing.
- Safely operate a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to power washer, pumps, filters, pond vacuum.
- Address any client questions, comments, and concerns as they arise.
- Prepare daily job reports
- Assist with employee recruiting and selection
Job Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted Driver's license with a clean record
- One year experience in this or a related field is required
- Previous leadership experience is helpful
- Willingness to work occasional (paid) overtime
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to waist level and perform all other physical requirements associated with a position of this nature
