POSITION DUTIES
General Purpose: The GMI Policy Advisor is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the Governor. The successful candidate will possess the core competencies, skills, and passion to provide high-level policy, administrative, strategy and communications support to the Director of Government Modernization. The Policy Advisor serves as a critical connector between the Director, Deputy Director of Government Modernization, the Chief Performance Officer, state agency leadership and program staff, and external stakeholders to ensure that the Government Modernization Initiative (GMI) objectivesâincluding achieving operational efficiencies and realizing state-wide cost savingsâare met. This role facilitates the strategic use of resources through research, effective briefing and operational coordination. This position sits within the Executive Office of Governor Wes Moore, within the Governorâs Office of Performance Improvement (GOPI).
