    Description

    Position Summary: This customer service position writes miscellaneous police reports, processes bond papers, receives payments, handles phone and in-person inquiries, and performs general office duties. Enters and edits data into a computer terminal and might be cross-trained in other areas of the police records unit. Trained in the areas of Mules and NCIC terminal information and performs related duties.

    Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with one year clerical or customer service experience preferred in a law enforcement agency. Selected applicants will be asked to take a computer and typing test (minimum 35 wpm). Ability to pass a written examination of the Missouri Sunshine Laws, NIMS level training, and Mules within first 6 months of hire.

    Physical Working Conditions: Hand dexterity for office machine operation. Frequent sitting for extended periods. Minimal stooping or bending to files and shelves.

    Typical Working Conditions: Staff perform daily work at a secure desk in a public lobby and should expect interactions with various citizens.

    Must be available for shift work and weekends with days off rotating every 28 days.Hours to work: 6 a.m.- 4 p.m. or 4 p.m.- 2 a.m.

    Additional Requirements: Requires a valid driver's license, drug testing and a comprehensive background check, including a polygraph and psychological.

    IBEW Maintenance & Clerical Bargaining Unit position.
