The PositionThe Police Services Officer is a non-sworn public safety position that provides essential operational and administrative support to the Police Department. Incumbents perform a wide range of duties including prisoner booking and care, property and evidence management, parking enforcement, court liaison services, subpoena processing, community outreach, vehicle fleet coordination, and public assistance. The position serves as a key point of contact for the public by receiving complaints, answering inquiries, preparing reports, and assisting crime victims and community members. Police Services Officers work in a dynamic law enforcement environment where they must exercise sound judgment, maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with established procedures, and effectively interact with diverse populations. This role requires strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to perform multiple responsibilities while supporting the safety, security, and operational effectiveness of the Police Department.

Hours: Police Services Officers must be available to work four, 10-hour shifts per week on a rotating basis, including weekends and holidays.
Shift hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Day Shift), 2 p.m. to 12 a.m. (Midnight) (Swing Shift), and 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. (Graveyard Shift).
Shift Differentials: In addition to base pay, Police Services Officers will receive 5% for swing shift and 7.5% for graveyard shift.
