Job Summary
Supervises daily work activities of commissioned officers and civilians assigned to a specific shift or division. Ensures officers and civilians comply with Department policies and regulations. Coordinates the use of staff and resources in the department. Assists in criminal investigations.

Required (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Materials and Equipment Directly Used
Operates police vehicles, handles police weapons such as sidearm, shotgun, handcuffs, pepper mace, baton and other related equipment. Frequent operation of computers, telephone and other related office management or investigative tools and equipment. Drives police vehicle.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
Exposure to both inside office environment and all extreme weather conditions. Exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, loud noise, fumes and sudden temperature change. Physical activity includes prolonged sitting. Involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, exercise of physical restraint and driving. Exposed to highly intense situations and physical activity. Extended sitting while conducting field operations. Occasional running. Intense physical contact occasionally occurs while making arrests. Must be able to lift 10 to 20 pounds frequently.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in criminal justice desirable.
