Position Description: Security Officer

University Place Shopping Center is seeking qualified part-time and full-time Security Officers to join our security team. We offer a comfortable, climate-controlled work environment and a pleasant atmosphere.


Benefits: Benefits are available to officers working more than 30 hours per week.


Duties and Responsibilities


Security Officer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Patrol the shopping center and monitor activity to maintain a safe environment.
  
  
• Respond promptly to criminal activity, disturbances, and emergency situations.
  
  
• Assist mall patrons and provide professional customer service.
  
  
• Enforce parking regulations and address parking violations.
  
  
• Provide security and crowd control for mall events and special activities.
  
  
• Identify, address, and report suspicious activity or safety concerns.
  
  
• Prepare accurate, detailed reports documenting incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities.
  
  
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property.
  
  
• Follow established security procedures and management directives.
  
  

Position Qualifications

• POST certification is required. Only POST-certified applicants will be considered.

• Must be physically fit and capable of walking and standing for extended periods.

• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and represent University Place Shopping Center professionally.
  
  
• Must demonstrate a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor when interacting with patrons, tenants, employees, and visitors.
  
  
• Must be able to observe, document, and accurately report incidents and daily activities.
  
  
• Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and professional conduct at all times.
  
  
• Must demonstrate sound judgment, reliability, integrity, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
