Benefit Description Eligible Employees Contribution & Notes Retirement Plans CalPers: 2.5% @ 55 Plan for Classic Employees; 2% @ 62 Plan for New Employees Non-Public Safety Employees Employee paid: employee contribution pre-tax.

CalPers: 3% @ 50 Plan for Classic Employees; 2.7% @ 57 for New Employees Police Employees Employee paid: employee contribution pre-tax. Optional: IRS 457 Tax Deferred Comp. plans with Empower Retirement (Mass Mutual) or Mission Square (ICMA) All regular employees Employee paid: pre-tax contributions to plan. City will contribute 2% at time of hire and up to 4% total after years of service to 457 plan. Retention Step: Effective December 21, 2025, the City will add a new Step G to the salary schedule for each bargaining unit classification. Step G will be 5% higher than the existing Step F. In addition to the normal requirements for step advancement, an employee must have completed ten (10) years of service which includes five (5) years of service in the bargaining unit for City of Morgan Hill. Employee paid: pre-tax contributions to plan. City may contribute based on bargaining unit.
