Summary of Job

New London Police enjoy a schedule which they work less than half a year after vacation and a personal day (5 days on 5 days off). Working in a team oriented environment with a positive culture enforcing laws of the State of Wisconsin, City of New London.

• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
• Ability to perform essential functions of this position
• Ability to possess a firearm
• Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Clear and concise speech
• Drivers license
• Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
• Good driving record
• Good physical condition
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
• No domestic abuse convictions
• No felony convictions
• React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
• U.S. citizen

Lateral Transfer candidates are streamlined through an accelerated hiring process. The Police and Fire Commission approves salary, vacation and sick time for lateral transfers.
