Minimum Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

As a Police Officer, you will support a safe environment through proactive patrol, emergency response, and law enforcement. In this role, you will:
Position-Specific Details
Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a Probationary Appointment.
Location: South Hall, Louisiana Tech University.1104 Hergot Ave, Ruston, LA 71272.
Work Schedule: Normal work hours will be 6:00am - 6:00pm (day shift) or 6:00pm - 6:00am (night shift). Currently, officers remain on a shift for an academic quarter, then may be changed to the other shift. Officers are also required to work special events and details as deemed necessary and assigned.
Compensation: The Police Officer 1 offers a Special Entrance Rate of 18.58/hr. and the Police Officer 2 offers a Special Entrance Rate of 19.88/hr. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, the vacancy may be filled from this recruitment as a Police Officer 1 or Police Officer 2, depending on the selected applicants level of experience.
