Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.️ Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesComplete all training and curriculum requirements at a recognized Michigan police academyLearn and apply professional policing principles, procedures, and case lawParticipate in community outreach and public service eventsAssist with documentation, evidence handling, and administrative tasksMaintain departmental equipment and uphold ethical standards Minimum QualificationsAt least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or GEDCompletion of MCOLES reading, writing, and physical agility testsCompletion of the EMPCO test (proof required at time of application)Valid Michigan driver's licenseU.S. CitizenshipStrong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skillsAbility to pass a background check, psychological evaluation, interview, and drug/alcohol screeningNo felony convictions or disqualifying criminal historyWillingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays Physical DemandsThis role requires physical strength, stamina, and agility.
