Role Overview

We are seeking a PN Tech Con III Server Platform Server Information Mgmt professional to support Linux supercomputer systems and maintain system availability and uptime. This role will perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and technical support while working with customer representatives and remote technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Linux supercomputer systems availability to the customer.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs as required.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems when necessary.
  • Provide technical and operational support based on customer requests and assignments.
  • Work with project and technical managers and customer representatives.
  • Provide advice on solution and integration opportunities.
  • Communicate across the client community.
  • Contribute to knowledge tools and communities.
  • Document and share project learnings.
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the team.
  • Diagnose complex technical problems and determine root cause.
  • Conduct or lead oral status and technical interchange meetings.
  • Provide reports and documentation for delivery.
  • Travel occasionally for training and hardware repairs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Linux HPC-related experience.
  • Experience with large-scale HPC system administration and hardware support.
  • Strong experience with Linux/Unix operating systems, file systems, networking, and security.
  • Experience with Red Hat/CentOS or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area of study, or three additional years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer relations, and problem management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly document processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a multi-technology environment.
  • Advanced technical or functional knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge in at least three major technology areas.
  • Ability to perform and drive resolution of problems involving combinations and interactions of products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and/or experience with Linux operating systems, including RHEL or SLES.
  • Consulting skills including questioning, listening, ideas development, permission, rapport, and influencing.
  • Ability to conduct or lead technical meetings with clients.
