The Pace University PLV Psychology Department is seeking a part-time Student Assistant to assist the Clinical Coordinator of Doctoral Internships & Research Coordinator with the following:

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

  • A part-time position in the Psychology Department to provide clinical administrative support for the coordinator of the doctoral internships, a requirement of the PhD in Mental Health Counseling program. This includes, but is not limited to, follow-up with clinical sites to secure new internships, provide tracking of student progress related to clinical hours, evaluations, and completion.
  • Assist the Clinical Coordinator of Doctoral Internships and Professor with preparing classroom materials for graduate and doctoral courses, organizing events, and supporting research tasks, including the preparation of mental health counseling research proposals and articles.
  • Additional responsibilities may include assisting with departmental outreach efforts to engage the community in partnering with the PhD in Mental Health Counseling program.
  • This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth department operation.
  • A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, including the completion of a 700-hour practicum and internship component
  • Clinical understanding of hospitals, private practices, federal and state agencies, and school settings
  • This is a 15-20 hours a week position that includes ongoing communication with the coordinator of the doctoral internships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, & Excel
  • Adept at learning new technology.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team
  • Students have a positive outlook on Pace University.
  • Able to function in a fast-paced environment, multitask when needed, and complete tasks to meet deadlines.

Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor; no more than 20 hours per week when school is in session and no more than 35 hours per week during breaks.
