    Job Title: Service Technician – Commercial Plumbing
    Location: San Francisco, CA
    Job Type: Full Time
    Reports To: Service Manager / Operations Manager


    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a reliable and skilled Service Technician to join our commercial plumbing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing systems in commercial buildings. This role requires a focus on customer service, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently to resolve plumbing issues in a timely and efficient manner.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform service calls, troubleshooting, and repairs of plumbing systems in commercial buildings (e.g., offices, schools, hospitals, industrial facilities).
    • Diagnose plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, broken pipes, malfunctioning fixtures, water heater failures, and more.
    • Install, maintain, and replace plumbing equipment, including water heaters, faucets, toilets, backflow prevention devices, and pipe systems.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing diagrams, and specifications to determine the best course of action for repairs or installations.
    • Ensure that plumbing installations and repairs meet local, state, and national plumbing codes.
    • Provide cost estimates to customers for necessary repairs or installations and discuss the best solutions.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, educating clients on proper plumbing maintenance and usage.
    • Maintain accurate service records, documenting work performed, materials used, and time spent.
    • Communicate with the service manager to report on job status, challenges, and recommendations.
    • Manage and organize tools and materials to ensure efficiency on the job site.
    • Ensure that all jobs are completed with safety in mind and in compliance with company safety standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Journeyman Plumber License (California) or equivalent certification.
    • 3+ years of experience as a service plumber or plumbing technician, specifically in commercial settings.
    • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
    • Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving plumbing issues.
    • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and contractors.
    • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (must be able to travel to various job sites).
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

    Work Environment:

    • Service calls at commercial job sites, including offices, retail buildings, schools, hospitals, and industrial properties.
    • Must be able to lift, carry, and move tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
    • Work in varied conditions (indoor and outdoor environments, occasional confined spaces, heights, etc.).
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required, based on customer needs.
