1 Plumber Apprentice Job Overview : As a plumbing apprentice , you will support commercial construction projects by installing plumbing systems according to your position's capabilities and parameters . Responsibilities: • Assist with commercial plumbing installation from underground/rough -ins, stack out to trim outs on large scale commercial and industrial construction projects such as, healthcare, government, educational, manufacturing, data centers and others. • Install hangers and supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation for water, gas, compressed air, medical gas, or other liquids. • Regular use of basic hand /power tools • Assist with the installation of materials such as copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and other piping. • Regular u se of hand/power tools. • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned. Qualifications/Requirement s: • 1+ years of commercial plumbing experience strongly preferred • Knowledge and exposure to basic plumbing principles required. • Previous experience working in plumbing trade preferred. • Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills . • Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work overtime if needed (and approved) . • Knowledge of basic hand/power tools and ability to read a tape measure . Preferred Qualifications : • OSHA 10 or other relevant safety certification is preferred . • Apprentice license (Plumbing Board) must be obtained within 4 weeks of h ire. Additional Requirements : • Analytical and problem -solving skills • Willingness to learn to read blueprints and shop drawings . • Basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. • Complies and promotes company Safety Policy . • Ability to work off ladders, man lifts and other equipment from various heights . Work environment is field based working outdoors . Requires walking, standing, climbing ladders, and working in varying temperatures. Ability to squat, bend, climb, stoop and comfortably lift 75 lbs. May require travel between project sites.
