Job Summary:
The Plumbing & Piping warehouse Manager is responsible for managing materials, receiving, processes, deliveries, tools, storage and all aspects for the plumbing warehouse operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the Receiving and check in of materials, tools and supplies
- Processes check-in paperwork ensuring the Peterson materials standard is followed
- Maintains warehouse tracking of back-orders and incomplete orders, communicates with Purchasing, Foremen, Project managers and superintendent
- Organizes raw material by fabrication build or project
- Assists the Fabrication Foreman with material availability for fabrication
- Assists the Purchasing Agent with material errors and/or verification
- Maintains shipping records of materials sent to the field
- Maintains and orders stock supplies and consumables
- Receives tools, supplies and equipment requests from field. Fills orders and deliver.
- Schedules shop deliveries or pick-ups, coordinate with other departments the use of trucks
- Maintains, stores and handles shop tools, carts, racks, dolly and raw materials. Repair and/or ensure readiness for use
- Maintains and organizes materials, or fabricated assemblies' storage for future delivery
- Corrects small vendor errors
- Assists the fabrication Foreman, Project managers, Superintendent or Purchasing agent with specialized tasks
- Operates and performs periodic maintenance and maintain records of fabrication shop equipment to ensure its readiness for use
- Collects returns from the field or fabrication shop, documents for purchasing
- Other duties as assigned
Non-Essential Job Duties:
- Makes deliveries as a backup to shop driver
- Assists with maintaining storage in the Peterson main yard area in coordination with the other departments
Essential Qualifications:
- HS Diploma
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to self-start and be proactive in making the operation more efficient
- Ability to interpret computerized data
- Computer literacy in office communication programs, Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of plumbing pipe fittings and parts
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge in plumbing and piping materials, tools and processes
- Experience and certification with warehouse forklift
- Warehouse management or 2-3 years experience in warehouse work
ADA Specifications:
Standing and walking prolonged periods. Manual dexterity required for computer work. Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Warehouse and office work environment. Moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations will be made available.
