Summary

Under the general supervision of the MEP Superintendent, Senior Plumber, or higher-level supervisor, the Plumber is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting on various piping systems including storm & sanitary system, chilled water, steam, air, gas, high- and low-pressure steam lines, heating systems, air compressors, or pneumatic controls.

Essential Functions

  • Modifies and repairs existing plumbing, replacing valves and other components. Performs minor repairs to pumps and troubleshoots problems with equipment.
  • Unclogs commodes, sinks and sewage lines. Replaces traps. Assists other trades with installations and repairs.
  • Assists in locating utilities in response to OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Services) requests.
  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs utility tunnels and steam and condensate systems.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies; works during inclement weather; and works to support various events on campus during non-business hours
  • Performs related duties based on departmental need

Minimum Qualifications

The following Experience is required:

  • One year experience required

The following Education is required:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the University's insurance
