Job Title: PLC Engineer - Control/Automation Engineer
Location: Minneapolis , MN -- 55413

The PLC Engineer - Control/Automation Engineer at our client in the aerospace industry will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and test equipment solutions. You will work within and lead cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform the way businesses operate. Your technical expertise in systems engineering, project management, and technical leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology and industry solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in systems or industrial engineering
  • Experience with PLCs
  • Mastery of knowledge in equipment integration, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Prior work experience at the client or in the client's industry

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field)
  • Associate's or technical degree in automation (Industrial Controls, Robotics, or related field)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC
  • Experience in SQL and databases
  • Experience in working on complex system integration projects
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving capability

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide technical skills and abilities to engineering teams, ensuring the successful execution of projects
  • Become an expert in PLC integration and troubleshooting for a complex automated system
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and manage system requirements, ensuring they are well-defined, complete, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results, and drive corrective actions
  • Supervise a small team of 2 to 3 and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion
